Rumi's Wedding Night 2021

On December 17, 1273, the night that Rumi died, he left this world with 60,000 verses of chanting Divine. The anniversary of Rumi’s death is known as Wedding Night! It is a day to celebrate Rumi’s life and work.

We came together on Rumi's Wedding Night  to celebrate life, light, and love. Guiding us through was Fariba Enteshari, the founder of the Rumi Educational Center, with speakers including Kevin Ferguson, a member of REC's Board of Advisors. Kiana Ranjbaran, an intern at REC and Biopsychology student at UCSB, related Rumi's ideas to the world around us. Parisa Ansari, a pre-med student at UCSB, shared with some of Rumi's verses. Our celebration featured an incredible performance by the UCSB Middle East Ensemble led by Professor Scott Marcus.
