Touched by Rumi: January 2021

Rumi has the ability to reach people of all backgrounds, ages, religions, and more. His wisdom sparks us to look within and influences us to view ourselves and the world in a different way. In this section of our Monthly Newsletter we ask people to show us how Rumi has affected them and their way of thinking.

Dear Fariba,

I care about you and that gives me the courage to offer my hand in friendship and pledge my heart and soul to finding the sacred space of common ground where we can meet regardless of our individual beliefs - a beautiful place like this tree of life where we can continue to work together for the well-being of all. By continuing to offer ourselves in this way to everyone we meet, we change the world.

Here’s a quote from Ray Bradbury: “We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out.” So instead of raising my cup to you in person on this New Year’s Eve, I am pouring my “beautiful stuff” all over you in absentia.

And I’ll close with my favorite Rumi quote: “Out beyond ideas of right and wrong there is a field. I will meet you there.”

Love,

Joy
